Description
Sharpening of a Groomer Convexed Shear – Curved or Straight and any length. (Japan Style) This is the for the shear that is a name brand and was more on the expensive side of things and usually costs more into $300+ range and requires a craft sharpener to decipher the edge type and application from factory. This sharpening process takes longer and requires application of a higher costing equipment to facilitate. If you have a few high end shears and you do not want them sharpened like all your other shears then this is the line item for you. Usually a 1 to 3 week turn around.
Brands like: Utsumi, Above, Green Mouse (PIO), Dream, Harzly, Top Tier Kenchi and other not as recognized Japanese, Korean or Chinese manufactures of grooming shears.
- Take Apart
- Clean
- Inspect
- Replace hardware or washers that are in bad shape
- Sharpen topside on Flat-Hone to factory convex angle (unless otherwise stated)
- Re-establish rideline (inside of shear) for shears with a factory rideline
- Re-assemble
- Set tension
- Test Cut with no lateral pressure (adding tension with thumb or finger)
